Eternity=Adam Qadmon?
Posted by Me-sama on December 01, 2001 at 21:57:28:

When was Eternity known as "Adam Qadmon"? I must admit, I haven't
read some of the comics the being was in, but I have no recollection
of him having that name...

I am thinking of the cosmic being who basically controls the marvel
universe. Is this another Eternity?

No this is the Eternity who is the universe. The "Adam Quamon"
name is from Strange Tales #138 from 1965.

Rogue Vol. 2 (Icons) 4 Issue L.S. placement
Posted by Bernard Assaf on December 03, 2001 at 22:49:32:

Simply put, I missed issue 1 of the 4. The story seems to suggest
in issues 2-4 that this isn't recent, especially since Rogue seems
not to know Nightcrawler very well, doesn't seem to recognize Scott/
Cyclops (living in Alaska at the time?) and of course the fact that
she doesn't have her metamorph powers. And, there's no mention of
the X-Treme X-Men plots.

So (ok, simply put for real this time), when does this take place?
Until I track down Issue 1, I'd like to know! Heh heh. Hope all
are well.

It's out of continuity altogether, as confirmed beyond all doubt
when Jean Grey turns up in issue #4. At the roughly comparable
point in X-Men continuity (ie, just after Rogue joined), she was
dead.

That kind of sucks: I already bought the whole mini-series and I
rarely buy stuff that's out of continuity. I've always thought there
should be a tiny symbol on the cover or splash page of each comic to
distinguish continuity and non-continuity comics...

It happens shortly after Rogue joined the X-Men, many years ago.
But it also really doesn't fit in there, and may be intended as an
out-of-continunity story.

The series is a hybrid between the movie and the comics and takes
place in it's own universe. It takes place shortly after Rogue meets
the X-Men. Initially, I think the plan was for this series to be in
continuity (barely) by not referring to or denying Rogue's time with
the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants or Ms. Marvel's powers and using
X-Men only from the correct time period (right before Wolverine's
wedding to Mariko). However, Fiona Avery (the writer) went and
stuck Jean Grey in one of the issues. Since Jean was busy being
dea at this time period the series falls outside of the regular
continuity.

Man of Rock
Posted by SouthernTiger on December 14, 2001 at 07:16:48:

Can anyone help me? I am trying to remember the name of a character
I believe may have featured in the Marvel comics that was made of
rock. I am not talking about Thing from the Fantastic Four and belive
this other character was a villain.

Are you talking about the Grey Gargoyle who can turn himself and
others into living statues?

Could be, someone also suggested Concrete from the Darkhorse comic
but that wasn't the guy either. I'll check out the grey gargoyle
next but I think the character I have in my head looked more like a
giant boris karloff made out of rock. May have only appeared in one
comic strip possibly Spiderman.

Maybe he is GOLEM III. He did not appear in Spider-Man stories but
in Strange Tales and in Marvel Two-in-One with the Thing.

Unicorn

I see that there is a Unicorn II listed as having appeared in
Soviet Super-Soldiers #1. However, as far as I can tell, that
was the original Unicorn who showed up in that story, and there
wasn't anyone else in the story named Unicorn.

There's a letter that won a no-prize for explaining it in NW #4 --
apparently the Avengers left a holographic reproduction of the
mansion on the spot so that their enemies wouldn't see them as
vulnerable. *shrug* What it says.

Black Panther teamed up with Mantis against Doctor Strange in
Defenders (first series) #9. They lost.
